Six months ago, we picked up a humble 1987 Audi 80 Quattro — nothing rare, nothing fancy, just a cheap four-wheel-drive winter beater we planned to thrash and forget by spring. 

Unfortunately, proper winter never hit Southwest Finland this year — barely any snow, no ice tracks, and not nearly enough fun. So instead of letting this machine sit idle, we’ve got a new plan…

We’re turning this rough Quattro into a street-ready, turbocharged 1.8T with cool looks and fun-to-drive character — and we’re giving it away to one of YOU!

This project is inspired by the legendary 5-cylinder Audi 90 — a clean, well-built street car that made waves in the Audi community. Its creator, our good friend Jape, is a well-known name among enthusiasts who appreciate thoughtful, high-quality builds. We at Grumblo had the chance to dive deeper into his world while producing his Dream Garage documentary last year, and his style has heavily influenced our vision for this Audi 80 Quattro. We’re bringing that same energy and street appeal to this project. It’ll be fast, fun, great to look at — and someone’s going to win it.

Over the next two months, we’ll be rigorously building this car from the ground up. It’s getting the full Grumblo treatment — performance, sounds, and looks — starting with a 5000€ respray to wipe away years of wear and bad paint.
