David Garvey Rejoins the Pro Drift Ranks on the Global Stage

A long-time friend of Grumblo, Ireland’s David Garvey is making his return to professional drifting with a bang. David, the older brother of Drift Masters veteran Dylan Garvey, has been out of action since the end of 2019. Now in his second pro event back, he entered the high-stakes Drift Masters Round 3 in Powerpark, Finland as an international wild-card entry.

David’s competition car, a Nissan PS13 Silvia, has been completely rebuilt by another Irish drifting legend Darren McNamara and his Group-D crew.

A fresh 750 hp 2JZ, G-Force dog box and Winters differential, Wisefab front and rear kits and extremely neat finish all-round should make a driver of long absence want to take it easy on a track rounded with hard concrete walls and intimidating line requirements, but David absolutely went for it and for a long time it looked like he would actually make it to the Top32 bracket from one of the most competitive qualifying sessions we have ever seen in Drift Masters history.

In the end it was not meant to be but we were happy and proud to see a long-time friend and partner put a strong showing on foreign soil. And to get to meet David in person and have a long chat after all the collaborations we have done in the last 7 years, starting from 59 North Wheels marketing campaign that ended with David becoming the Irish dealer for them, a real pleasure!

Go give David a follow on his socials @david_garvey53 - we are sure he will continue to do great things on and off the track for years to come!
